As someone who lives a generally active lifestyle, I've seen Gabe a bunch and couldn't be more impressed with the work that he does. When people have injuries, I always ask them if they've tried osteopathy because I've always had such incredible results with Gabe.
A little while back, I had one of the most common, but lingering issues that happen because of the absurdity of choosing CrossFit as my exercise of choice. I had really bad shoulder tendinitis for about six months with no end in sight. I went to traditional doctors, had no results from physical therapy, and even spent hundreds on ultrasounds, co-pays, and beyond to try and fix it up. Once I found Gabe, the end of my shoulder woes was finally in sight.
In just three sessions, Gabe had my shoulder tendinitis gone and all impingement a distant memory. Gabe uses a pin and stretch-type technique that isn't painful at all and stretches your body to release tension where it needs to and get you back up and moving again. To help maintain my shoulder, he gave me some simple, realistic pre-post workout stretches that I've been doing ever since. I haven't had any shoulder problems in over a year since our three session together. After losing six months wasting time visiting traditional doctors, I was completely good in just a month.
I recently sprained my ankle really bad training for the LA Marathon and went back to see Gabe. I had briefly moved to NorCal and hadn't been back in a while (injury-free, incredible!), but seeing Gabe was like seeing an old friend again. I've been getting acupuncture on my ankle every week for the past six weeks, but one session with Gabe took me further than all of those sessions have combined. In just one session, he was able to identify the problem, even with my subpar instructions, and start stretching my foot and ankle around to loosen up some ligaments that I had sprained pretty bad. I thought I was going to have to drop out of the LA Marathon that I'm running for charity, but with Gabe's help, I have no doubt that I'll be good for it in no more than two sessions with him.
If you have a mystery injury that's been bugging you and want to get back on your feet, do yourself and your time a favor and visit Gabe. He's really knowledgeable about all types of sports injuries and his goal is to get you back out there quickly and safely. It's quick, not painful at all, and you'll be more than amazed at how quickly your body can recover once it's loosened up in the right places.
And of course, Gabe is not only a talented guy, he's a good dude that makes the appointments a lot of fun.
As an author, academic, and journalist, I spend too much time hunched over my keyboard, straining my neck. Last time I drastically injured my neck, I lost almost all movement--until Gabe loosened things up with one miraculous session of rehabilitative bodywork. Before being treated by Gabe, I had no idea that hands-on therapy could be so radically medicinal and immediately powerful!
This work has really helped my body and my workouts. When I came in, my left shoulder wasn't pressing as far as my right and now, my trainer Charles Glass can see, it is back to balance with my right.
I have started getting my legs worked on, too, and my recovery time after a workout is three days faster and I can get rid of any pain.
Gabe, keep up the great work!
I wish I could bring you to the races, and come more often [for treatments]. It's a very good technique!
Just as I was dreading a possible second surgery on my knee, Gabe Luban convinced me that I simply needed a rigorous, dedicated routine of stretching and lengthening of specific muscles, tendons, and insertion points. Sure enough, a short few weeks later I was walking normally for the first time in four years.
Gabe is a therapist who custom-designs his treatments for each patient. I only wished I had known Gabe before my first knee surgery--he might have saved me from ever going under the knife!
I had lower back pain and neck pain that was causing nausea/vertigo and I had gotten several deep-tissue massages that I thought would cure it. But after each massage, the pain and nausea returned. A friend raved about Gabe, saying he was "the guy" (the best), so I made an appointment. He was fantastic--professional, caring, and very knowledgeable (for example, he explained to me why the massages had not solved my issues). As soon as he started working on my hip flexors and shoulders, I started feeling better. He is not only great at making you feel better, he identifies what you're doing that's causing you pain. Can't recommend him enough!
Gabe is a truly gifted PT. After trying every chiropractor and masseuse in town I finally decided to give PT a shot. In one session Gabe was able to fix my chronic lower back problem. I don't usually take the time to fill out these sorts of things but it's rare to find someone as gifted in what they do. Gabe also showed me some great exercises and gave me suggestions to take care of my back in the future. The best thing I can say is that I am now pain free and haven't needed to go back! Thanks Gabe!
To Gabe, my 'Go To Man.' You're not a Doctor, you're not a chiropractor, I don't know what to call you - The Truth. When my back was in pain and the Doctor said it was my fifth lumbar and my chiropractor said it was out of place - none of that did anything.
When you saw me you knew right away that it was my hip flexor and right away you taught me how to fix it.
Within three treatments my back was brand new and I could fight without limitations. Six months later, I hit a guy on the top of the forehead as he was going down and jammed my hand and wrist. For three months I tried everything and within one session you found it and fixed it. Thanks for putting me back together!
I have long standing back injuries, L4-L5-S1 bulging disks, osteoarthritis from years of heavy sports training. Gabe has not only alleviated my symptomology but he has kept me working and moving in good form without surgery.
I could not recommend anyone more highly! Put your trust in him, he is the best of the best. Any joint problems, pain, this guy is going to fix it. I sent my whole staff and family to him.
Former #1 tennis player in the world, Guga was sidelined in 2001 with hip problems that required surgery in early 2002. Among his come-back events was the August '02 Men's Professional Tennis Tournament at UCLA, where Gabe was the official bodyworker. Guga requested Gabe's treatment of his hip several times throughout that week.
"Gabe's work got all the right spots and helped to release the tightness in my hip from all the pounding of these hard court matches. And I like his good mood! He also helped my coach Lari with his elbow."
My work and recreation can be, and reliably are, very intense. From operating three high volume restaurants to competing in horse shows, my body racks up significant impacts. Gabe has helped me through an array of injuries and migraines that would have otherwise run my race-paced reality into brick walls (or should I say face first into hard-packed dirt?).
I use Gabe as a consultant when my employees encounter physical limitations because his work is more efficient and trustworthy than what I've experienced in tradition medicine. Thanks to Gabe for keeping me and my staff flying high!
When I first started fitness training this year, most exercises caused me pain. My trainer referred me to Gabe and he has been able to guide me past countless injuries to my lower back, ribs, knees, neck and shoulders.
For active people, this form of bodywork is essential!
I was suffering from a severe shoulder injury, to the point where the pain was a constant all day and I wasn't able to sleep at night. First I tried a conventional intervention, but the exercises that my doctor prescribed only made my symptoms worse until I couldn't lift my arm behind my hip or above my waist without excruciating agony, even the simplest tasks were difficult to accomplish. Then my doctor referred me to Gabe.
The treatments were pretty intense but afterwards, and throughout the week, I noticed significant improvements. Now I go through the day without pain and my range of motion has progressed to where I can lift my arm straight up and put my hand flat behind my back. Gabe is now working on the tendonitis in my legs and that too is improving.
Being almost pain free, after many years of thinking that it was something I was just going to have to live with, is great! Thanks Gabe!!
This technique is very good, it helped my shoulder stay loose and I was able to play well through some very difficult matches.
Gabe has been my family's bodywork Miracle Man for many years now. He has kept my Dad active after countless falls and peripheral nerve damage. He rehabilitated my Mom's knee replacement, elbow, and shoulder...all the impacts from a life as tennis player. When I got tendonitis of the knee, Gabe was able to figure out that one of my legs is slightly longer than the other. He recommended orthotics which did the trick, and I haven't had a problem since. I recommended him to my aunt with a painful sciatic injury that limited her ability to walk, and after 3 sessions she was back to her old self.
Not only is he one of the best physical therapists around, he's a warm, caring, and all around great guy. I would refer any ache, pain, or sprain to him with total confidence.
I've got to say, Dr.Gabe is a true healer!! He gets to the root of the problem, provides immediate relief, and educates so I can take better care of myself in the future. His goal is to heal, not to have you keep coming back for more treatment. I've been dealing with back pain from herniated disks for 18 years and I get jacked up every so often. Dr. Gabe has been masterful in providing relief and getting me back to living pain free. I really can't say enough about how much I trust and respect his work, I've tried many things including western doctors, numerous chiropractors, physical therapy, Acupuncture, yoga, pilates and have seen over 40 healers through the years...Dr. Gabe is at the top of the list.
Gabe: you have managed to keep my pain away longer than ever before. Thanks!
I used to get a massage every three or four days and then I would start hurting again to the point where my sleep was interrupted.
After a few treatments and some advice on changing my body positions, I am feeling great and able to go three to four months without a problem.
In the midst of training for a movie I threw my back out so bad that I was immobilized in bed. Had to crawl to get to the bathroom.
Within one treatment Gabe got me back on my feet again and by the end of the week I was back to work. Gabe's technique is terrific!
Gabe is as good as it gets. His physical pain relief technique borders on miraculous. And his work is more deeply transformative than typical physical therapy work. What can I say? I'm a fan. Find out for yourself.
I am a screenwriter in his mid-seventies with gout (contracted by wrong medication). Gabe allowed me to function, alleviated the acute pain of acid crystals which assaulted wrists, hands and toes.
He is a self-educated therapeutic magician with a farrier's forearms and the personality of a hip saint.
Pain free and mobile! That's what I consistently experience after a treatment with Gabe. His incredible technique and knowledge, coupled with his intuitive "hands-on" approach works wonders for my body. I'm in my fifties and have a congenital leg/hip problem and love to work out (Rowing, surfing, cycling, etc.).
Gabe is able to quickly restore my normal range of motion and flexibility and get me back to the gym, pain-free!! For this I truly feel blessed I have access to Gabe and his remarkable technique.
A tennis champion in the Juniors, 19-year-old Alex's first experience on the Men's Professional Tour resulted in a career win over Germany's number 1 player, Tommy Haas.
"The result of Gabe's first treatment on me was unbelievable. It allowed me to beat the top seed in the tournament pain-free."
This guy is amazing. For 15 years I was suffering from upper back and had gone to number of physical therapists, acupunctures, massage therapists. Within two sessions with him he fixed me up and I no longer have the pains and suffering.
He is very different than the other therapist. He is more into manual therapy than put you on the machine and let the machine do its work. This guy listen to you and concerns what are your wishes to have a pain free body.
I'm very satisfy with this guy.
Gabe's work feels like it pushes all the junk out of my muscles. It feels sore while he's working on me, but a good kind of sore—like it's breaking up the problem areas.
I'm an ex-pro athlete, having spent 25 years torturing my body as I rose to and competed at tennis at the highest international level. I've had several operations and physical therapy, and plenty of massage and chiropractic treatments, but still I remained in pain for over 30 years. That is, until I started being treated by Gabe. I've never run into anyone nearly as good as Gabe at figuring out what's wrong and then successfully treating it. He's relieved pain and restored good range of motion in my shoulders, back, hips and knees! Never, never did I think I'd be this pain free.
An added bonus is that Gabe is a genuinely nice guy who is irrepressibly upbeat. It's always a pleasure to be treated by him, as he's interested in what's happening with me and in the world. He takes physical problems as a challenge, and with intelligence and skill he goes about solving the problem.
You cannot go wrong seeing Gabe. He's a real star.
I started treatment with Gabe Luban for a hamstring injury. Amazingly, he is able to quickly find the exact spot of muscle strain/pain and work out the kinks. His technique and personality are great! I highly recommend him.
When I came to see Gabe, I couldn't walk a city block without having to sit down to quell the pain. My back and hips were in such severe spasm that I couldn't function.
As a medical doctor, I tried all conventional avenues: Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, mainstream medical (all kinds of anti-inflammatories and pain killers), none of them worked.
Within six treatments, Gabe got me moving again. A few months later I won a local body building competition and now I'm preparing for the masters nationals -- thanks to Gabe.
This is the most powerful and practical work I've gotten on the tour.
#1 tennis player in France, Sebastian came to the Los Angeles Men's Professional Tennis Tour stop with a left adductor tear that had sidelined him for six weeks just prior to the tournament.
"Gabe's treatment allowed me to play with much more mobility and helped me to win the doubles. It was such a relief to get worked on, I would go twice a day."
Gabe is a miracle worker! I'm (sadly) injury prone, and each time he fixes me up quickly. He's truly amazing at what he does and I highly recommend him.
After years of weightlifting, running and basketball, I periodically suffer neck and back problems. This is exacerbated by the fact that I'm a professor, spending a lot of time at the computer each day. Whenever my back or neck flares up, Gabe rescues me. I've tried many other sophisticated therapists and therapies, but there's no one comparable to Gabe. He has a range of knowledge of different kinds of approaches which is impressive, and he's extremely quick and efficient at providing relief. I can't recommend him highly enough!
All too familiar story...I tried everything for a back injury. Doctors recommended surgery. I didn't want that route, but felt old and hobbled by the pain. Last ditch effort...I tried Gabe. My experience was not familiar at all...this guy thinks, in detail, outside the box. Not only did he FIX it, he gave me a great gizmo that I travel with, recommend to all my friends, and credit with NO MORE pain. This guy is smart, amicable and invested in getting you better - our entire medical system should take a note from him. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Gabe is amazing!!! He was able to help me with my back and neck pain in just 1 session. I've tried other types of rehabilitative bodywork and it never has the lasting results that Gabe can get.
He's the best...that's all I can say
Gabe's the man! I've been going to him about every 6 months (I junk my back about every 6 months or so) for the last 5 years and every time he remembers me, my typical problems, figures out what's wrong immediately and has me moving again same day! Amazing!
One other thing - I thought I'd really hurt my knee (I've had 2 surgeries on it and this felt the same, I thought I needed a third), and he was able to stretch it out and it felt like new - in about an hour. Sore? See him. You'll be thrilled.
I went to see Gabe because I have two protruding discs in my back, L4 and L5. I felt the difference after our first session. I left his office feeling a lot better, and after a series of treatments, felt better than I did before the injury.
I would recommend seeing Gabe at Rapid Relief for any physical pain or discomfort you may be having. He's personable, reliable, and great at what he does. He addressed my issue, and let me know the amount of sessions he thought it would take to get me back to where I was feeling good again. And, he was right. Plus, he didn't insist I keep seeing him, and that help me to trust him. Rapid Relief provided the therapy I needed to get my back feeling better again.
Gabe is great. He is fixing my neck/shoulder issue and I've already seen results. Plus, he's giving me exercises so I can get the issue resolved once and for all. I would highly recommend him to help with both short and long term pain.
A lifelong competitive tennis player, I quit for years due to chronic knee pain. Top doctors were unable to diagnose the problem, in spite of extensive arthroscopic surgery.
Gabe did what traditional physicians could not: he identified the anatomical source of my pain and designed a treatment program to solve it. I now play tennis competitively three times a week, and recently won my league championship. Thanks to Gabe, I'm healthy again.
During the Wipeout competition I tweaked something in my right knee. After a couple of months of pestering pain, I went to Gabe. Within two treatments I¹m 85% better and thrilled that he figured it out. As an insatiable adventure athlete (paddle surfing, wakeboarding, mountain biking, snowboarding, softball, beach volleyball and just about anything anyone challenges me to) I¹m fortunate to have Gabe in my corner. His tune-ups have kept me in top form in spite of all that I put my body through!
